Frank Oceans engineer Jeff Ellis speaks…

This is a fantastic video for anyone wanting to get some insight into the mysteries of sound engineering.

Jeff Ellis is the mix engineer who worked on Frank Oceans debut album Channel ORANGE (2012) and its follow up Blondie (2016), he’s also worked with a number of other artists in his career including Kate Nash and Skylar Grey.

The video isn’t to long but gives a great insight into Jeff’s processes and I found his ideas about different speaker sets to mix through particularly insightful.

The original video is presented by Sound on Sound a fantastic magazine and website for all things engineering – http://www.soundonsound.com/
